EHS Project Manager APAC

Reporting to the Head of EHS, APAC (Australia), the EHS Project Manager, APAC will work with the Regional EHS team and Plant Personnel to scope and deliver EHS projects for plants across the Region in support of the Regional EHS strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance on EHS-related continuous improvement projects aligned with the EHS management system development and implementation
• Ensure improvement and standardization of EHS policies and procedures to drive the Zero Harm culture journey and ensure robust project and change management for all initiatives
• Assess regulatory compliance across various safety programs and environmental media
• Perform compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Support the design and implementation of the EHS management systems and programs for plants
• Conduct training, field coaching, and assessment for EHS performance improvement projects
• Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables
• Assess project feasibility, develop detailed project plans and implementation and communication plan for key stakeholders
• Drive teams across multiple projects to ensure milestones are met and quality and safety are at the highest possible level
• Work with and support Plant EHS Managers to effectively drive, manage and deliver projects
• Develop key metrics to measure success of the project performance and ROI
• Recommend solutions to systemic EHS issues, improvement opportunities and new prevention measures
• Consolidate EHS standards and processes throughout APAC ensuring the drive for continual improvement

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

 Knowledge

• Degree qualified with a major in Workplace Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, physical sciences or engineering
• Experience in project planning, management and execution
• Sound knowledge of EHS legislation across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines
• Exposure to and understanding of a broad range of relevant project and change management methodologies and practices
• Strong understanding of EHS Management Systems, technology and tools
• Strong business acumen with the ability to see the bigger picture

 Experience

• Experience project management and leading EH&S change across multiple sites with various local management teams
• Experience developing and designing environment, EHS programs across a range of functional areas
• Site management operational experience in a multi-site manufacturing or high risk environment will be beneficial
• Ability to think strategically, drive strategy and manage the execution of a World Class EHS system
• Demonstrated ability to make sound, independent judgments within established policies and procedures but seek expert advice as required
